At Strey, we are constantly inspired by the world around us, drawing from both the past and the present, and this collection is no different. Inspired by ancient legends and folklore to modern-day mysteries, we’ve crafted a unique line that transcends time and space. Our collection presents tales of fabled creatures from the deep blue seas that have captivated imaginations for centuries, powerful beings that soar through fiery skies, and curious extraterrestrial life that makes us question the very fabric of our existence. This collection is a tribute to the stories and myths that have withstood the test of time.
AZURE DRAGON
The Azure Dragon, a symbol of strength, power, and good fortune in Chinese mythology, forms the cornerstone of this collection. Chinese dragons are revered as benevolent and powerful creatures, often believed to have control over water and the ability to summon rain in times of drought. They are the embodiment of good luck and represent authority and wisdom—very different from the destructive, fire-breathing dragons of Western lore.
To honor this legendary creature, I researched the intricate details of traditional Chinese dragon designs. Each dragon is said to have attributes from nine different animals—shrimp eyes, deer antlers, a dog’s nose, and a snake’s tail, to name a few. These nuances were central to the design, and after careful study, I finalized a modern-styled holographic dragon that reflects the ancient mythology while adding a futuristic touch.
To blend tradition with contemporary streetwear, I chose a classic, traditional style of dragon drawing, similar to those seen in ancient paintings and artifacts. We exaggerated the dragon's mane and refined the details to create a clean, modern look. Bright colors and highlighted shapes give the design an otherworldly feel. After selecting a luxurious polyester satin fabric along with our classic cotton blend knit, we used machine embroidery to add texture and depth to the design for our luxury lounge fit while our casual street fit had our azure dragon screen printed meticulously. The result is a rich, detailed motif that stays true to the mythological roots of the Chinese dragon.

BARAIRO DRAGON
Following the success of the Azure Dragon design, I took the feedback into consideration to create something bold and daring with the "Barairo Dragon". Inspired by the traditional Chinese dragon but with a modern twist, this design exaggerates the long, snake-like body of the dragon, highlighting its majestic and mythic proportions.
For this design, I wanted to experiment with a color palette that would stand out in the collection. After much experimentation, we settled on a contrast of pink and teal, which brings out the dragon's free, unruly nature. The Barairo Dragon’s mane was exaggerated further, making it wild and bold. Using sublimation printing techniques, we ensured the vibrant colors and intricate detailing of the dragon remained clear and crisp on the luxurious duchess satin fabric.

THE CURIOUS ALIENS
Is mankind alone in the universe? Or are there other intelligent beings looking up at their skies from distant worlds, pondering the same mysteries as us? Inspired by the ongoing fascination with extraterrestrial life, we decided to delve into the mysteries of aliens for this segment of the collection.
The design reflects the curious nature of extraterrestrial beings, imagining them wondering about our strange idioms, societal norms, and behaviors. To bring this idea to life, I collaborated with graphic artist Bhreehan to create vintage comic-style illustrations. We combined traditional alien imagery with modern graphic design techniques, resulting in a futuristic yet nostalgic look.
The prints feature aliens observing Earth’s customs, questioning the logic behind our everyday lives. The base t-shirt color shifted from black to white, and we paired the tee with track pants and shorts for a set that speaks to both comfort and curiosity.
MAJESTIC WHITE HORSE OF PEGASUS
A symbol of power, beauty, and freedom, Pegasus has inspired awe in mythology for centuries. According to Greek legend, this majestic winged horse was born from the blood of the Gorgon Medusa after she was slain by Perseus. Pegasus not only possessed the ability to fly but also had magical powers, creating springs of water wherever his hoof touched the ground—springs said to inspire artists and poets alike.
The design for Pegasus focused on capturing the beauty of its wings with detailed line art + shading. We experimented with the horse’s color, finally deciding on a pure white base to maintain its mythological purity. To bring this powerful creature to life, we opted for screen printing over DTG to give the design a bold and tactile feel.
We chose colorful, tie-dyed fabric for the base of the t-shirt, adding an ethereal element to the design. The bottoms, in contrast, were kept simple and black, allowing the Pegasus motif to take center stage.
To keep the Pegasus motif the star of the collection, we chose to complement the t-shirt with simple, black bottoms. These sleek and minimalist shorts or track pants offer a streamlined silhouette, allowing the Pegasus design on the shirt to take center stage. The black provides the perfect contrast to the ethereal t-shirt, making for a well-balanced, high-impact look.
However, we didn’t stop at just the top. For those who love an all-encompassing look, we also introduced Pegasus screen-printed track pants. These pants feature the same meticulous line art + shading of Pegasus’s wings along the horse, bringing the mythical creature to life on both sides of the ensemble. The placement of the Pegasus print on the track pants is intentional—subtle enough to offer a minimalist look, yet bold enough to catch the eye. The use of screen printing on the track pants adds a textured feel to the design, making the outfit not only look striking but also feel rich in detail.
DRAGON LABYRINTH, EAST MEETS WEST
As the journey of the collection progressed, I felt inspired to create something that truly embodied a cross-cultural blend—a meeting of two vastly different yet equally powerful worlds of design. The result was the Dragon Labyrinth, a design that unites the dramatic mythology of the West with the elegant, flowing precision of Eastern dragon motifs. This particular piece stands out in the collection not only because of its intricate design but also because of the satin fabric we chose to elevate its luxurious feel.
The Dragon Labyrinth design draws deeply from two mythological traditions. From the West, we’ve captured the intensity and dramatic flourishes often associated with baroque mythology, where dragons are seen as fearsome, awe-inspiring creatures, known for their power and the chaos they bring. From the East, we embraced the graceful, flowing energy of Chinese dragons, who are revered not as beasts of destruction but as symbols of strength, prosperity, and harmony.
This blend of mythologies allows the Dragon Labyrinth to take on a symbolic depth that goes beyond fashion. It becomes a visual story—one that merges these two iconic dragon figures into a single, unified design that honors both strength and elegance, power and flow. The Eastern influence is evident in the soft, flowing lines, which are designed to appear almost like a dragon winding through the clouds, while the Western elements are introduced through bold, sharp contrasts that speak to the baroque tradition.
When conceptualizing this design, I wanted the clash of styles to be seamless yet distinct, representing a true meeting of East and West. The design features swirling shapes and bold, dynamic colors, creating a pattern that captivates the eye as it wraps around the body, moving in a labyrinthine fashion. The intricate line work is an essential part of the pattern, evoking the precision and balance often associated with Chinese dragon art, while the bold color contrasts speak to the Western fascination with high drama and intensity.
We chose a colorful print for the Dragon Labyrinth that stands out against a pristine white satin base. The satin fabric adds a layer of richness and sophistication, as its smooth surface allows the colors and patterns to truly pop. The interplay between the vibrant hues of the design and the luxurious sheen of the satin makes this collection both visually captivating and physically indulgent. The white background serves as a canvas that allows the swirling designs and intricate dragon motifs to take center stage, creating an eye-catching, dynamic pattern that moves with the body.

Satin was the perfect choice for this design because it not only adds an elevated level of luxury, but also aligns with the loungewear vibe we wanted to capture for this particular collection. A DEEP DIVE INTO THE DEPTHS
The Loch Ness Monster, fondly known as Nessie, has long been a symbol of mystery, folklore, and the unknown. For centuries, this elusive creature has been the subject of fascination, sightings, and debates, inspiring countless legends and capturing the collective imagination. From whispered tales in Scottish pubs to worldwide media coverage, Nessie remains one of the most iconic cryptids. It was this sense of wonder, intrigue, and fascination with the unseen that inspired us to bring Nessie into the heart of our latest collection.
With the Loch Ness Monster at the center of our vision, we set out to create a design that honors her mystery and allure while adding our own artistic twist. Our approach was to focus not only on Nessie herself but also on the aquatic, otherworldly environment she’s rumored to inhabit. This allowed us to craft a piece that feels both mythical and playful, a celebration of the unknown that invites wearers to dive deep into their own imagination.
THE GRIFFIN TAKES FLIGHT
The Griffin, a symbol of strength, courage, and guardianship, is one of the most iconic creatures in mythology, blending the ferocity of a lion with the majesty of an eagle. With its lion’s body and eagle’s head and wings, this hybrid creature has been revered across various mythologies, from the ancient Greeks to medieval European traditions, and often represented nobility and divine power. In many cultures, the Griffin was considered a guardian of treasure, charged with protecting the most valuable riches from those unworthy of their presence.
This legendary creature holds a unique place in history, often depicted as both a fierce protector and a symbol of regal authority. The Griffin’s imagery adorns royal crests, coat of arms, and ancient monuments, where it stood as a vigilant guardian—an emblem of strength that could strike fear into any intruder or challenger. Inspired by the creature's timeless allure, we decided to honor its symbolism with an intricate design that captures the essence of its power and grace.
For this design, we focused on the Griffin’s stately, guardian role, drawing inspiration from royal emblems and heraldic symbols. Unlike the more aggressive depictions of the Griffin in mid-flight or battle, we chose to emphasize its protective nature, imagining the creature standing as a guardian of treasure or sentinel of power. This approach showcases the Griffin’s authority and grace, presenting it as a creature of nobility rather than chaos. The illustration features two Griffins facing each other, standing tall and proud, as if protecting an invisible kingdom. This mirror-like composition creates a sense of balance, a nod to the symmetry and order often seen in royal emblems or crests. The Griffins are posed in a heraldic stance, wings slightly spread and heads held high, exuding both majesty and vigilance. The design intentionally evokes the image of royal insignia, with the Griffins acting as watchful guardians, embodying the idea of nobility and protection.
THE ILLUMINATI DOG
One of the most intriguing conspiracy theories of all time, the Illuminati represents a secretive group thought to control world events from behind the scenes. For this design, I combined the Illuminati symbol of the all-seeing eye with Strey’s iconic dog logo, placing the third eye on the forehead of the dog to create a playful yet thought-provoking piece.
The garment features asymmetrical style lines and panels with highlighted flatlock details, reflecting the sense of chaos and mystery associated with the Illuminati.
This collection for Strey is a celebration of legends, myths, and the unknown.
