INTRODUCTION

Birla Cellulose, a world leader in Man-made cellulose fibers has launched a trend collection for Spring Summer 18. This collection purely uses Birla Viscose and Birla Modal Fibres in core and innovation. It has been the outcome of extensive research done by the Birla Cellulose team based on market survey, client feedback of global brands and retail, trend direction by WGSN, an international Forecast design consultant agency. The fine quality Fabrics were developed at the State - of - art Textile Research and Application Development Center (TRADC) of Birla Cellulose.

The Spring Summer 18 collection ’Metanoia’ talks about the journey of changing one’s mind, heart and self or way of life. The inspiration derived from ‘Metanoia’ culminates into an interesting array of high quality fabrics, blends, their distinct functionalities, textures, patterns, prints, and varied color hues. The theme transpires into bright Yarn dyed designs, intricate Jacquards, rich classy Plains, Light weight feel and Neppy newness which in turn form the inspiration of our four stories and phases of Life -

’POP GRAFITTI’ , ‘HYBRID PARADISE’ , ‘GLOBAL KALEIDOSCOPE’ , ‘NOSTALGIC FUTURE’

The first phase story ‘POP GRAFFITI’ showcases the teen rebellious and creative attitude to break rules, mix and mis-match to create gender-fluid, ageless and borderless designs. It talks about Modern outlook which shouts of individual existence and personal style statements. A DIY – do it yourself approach is put forward through means of unique bizarre styling, punk undertones, strong thoughts expressed through scribble and blending remixing outlandish mediums. Inspiartion is derived from Wall Grafitti, badges, patch-ons displayed in pop, neon color palette that screams attention.

The second phase story ‘HYBRID PARADISE explores an imaginative hybrid nature of the future that creates feelings of Euphoria and psychedelia. We seek out and celebrate the more sensual side of the World around us. Nature is reflected and abstracted in newer forms. Unusual foliage, strange exotic florals and micro-organisms form the inspiration of this story which is depicted through bright hues, textured patterns and bold prints

YARN DYED CONVERSATIONS (Spundyed/Birla Modal/Viscose) Woven checks are applied to a variety of qualities from Modal, Viscose, Viscose and modal blends. Gingham, shadow and over checks stand out in a graphic high-contrast palette of summer shades with black and pink tones giving the preppy look a subversive, rebellious edge.
